Like most communities, our skateboarding community is a mix - from young to old, and beginners to pros, and we all come together for one reason... skateboarding.
And while our local communities are starting to grow with more outdoor skateparks in recent years, the lack of indoor skateparks in our area is still surprising, considering our weather is less than favorable for more than half the year.
Yes, free public outdoor skateparks do provide much needed spaces for skateboarders (and other wheeled sports enthusiasts), however, they are only available for use during daylight hours, weather permitting, and do not provide any supervision for younger participants.
This highlights our need for a safe, indoor skatepark facility in Akron, Ohio. Help make this possible... donate today.

The Carver Society was founded as a non-profit corporation in the state of Ohio in December 2021, by Jason (Jay) Salisbury, a local Akron skateboarder and skateboarding advocate trying to raise awareness and support for an indoor skatepark facility in Akron Ohio.
Hey Skaters! I'm Jay. I was born and raised in Barberton, Ohio - graduated Class of 1992. I grew up skateboarding with my friends around 1988-89 or so...
