The Carver Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, created with the purpose of bringing our community together to raise awareness and support for a much needed indoor skatepark facility in Akron, Ohio... but we'll need your help to achieve our goal!
For those that don't already know it,
Akron is the 5th largest city in the state of Ohio with a population of more than 190,000 people, and nowhere to skate indoors when the weather is bad! And, we get our fair share of it - rain, snow, ice, & cold!
According to the National Recreation and Park Association (nrpa.org),
Along with these positive benefits, having an indoor skatepark in Akron would allow enthusiasts to participate in the wheeled-sport activities they are passionate about (skateboarding, scooters, rollerblades, in-line skates, roller skates, and bmx) on a year-round basis! Yes, ALL YEAR Folks!
And let’s not forget about safety and supervision – two key elements that can be overlooked at outdoor skateparks. When done indoors, it also provides a wide variety of opportunities for skill development and socialization, all within a supportive community environment.
